Phase 1: Discovery
The Discovery Phase consists of the client team and project manager working together to map and document all requirement for the website or site enhancement. This may include: (1) a full audience assessment including User Profiles and User Journeys, (2) a Site Information Architecture (IA) which maps the navigational hierarchy of the website, (3) a detailed set of Wireframes which identify all required layouts and functionalities
Phase 2: Design
The Design Phase involved using the requirements and wireframes from Phase 1 to develop high fidelity graphic representations of the required pages or elements. This may involve working with Web Services, a Web Services design partner, anon-campus design group or an external design group. For a full website development project, this phase would produce a Components page (including typography, colours and foundational elements), page designs and listing page designs.
Phase 3: Development
The Development Phase may begin with prototype development and testing, and once the prototype is approved, Web Services will complete the development of the back-end functional elements for the project. Once completed, it will be available for the client to test and populate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This phase culminates in the website launch, once it is fully approved and populated by our clients. Web Services will bring the website live and coordinate any URL redirects as required.
Phase 4: Maintenance
The Maintenance Phase begins post launch. Web Services will ensure that the website is available and accessible, is fully functional according to the project specifications, and is patched and updated as required. There may be additional services as per each client's Hosting Agreement. Web Services will also be available for any enhancements or adjustments that a client requests.
